INTRO
Originally the artwork was developed for a Card Game Contest. However, I felt that the design constraints of the contest rules did not make for an effective game. In addition, my purpose was to flex my typograhic design skills and digital collage abilities. As a result, the entire product was redesigned as a Majors Only Tarot Deck (with some Oracles), with some consultation from street scholar and fellow artist, SYNCRETIC CLOWN PUNK.

What is the Difference between a Tarot and an Oracle?
A Tarot deck has centuries of defined tradition and meanings, and is almost always the same 78 Card deck. Oracles on the otherhand, are eclectic original divinatory cards that has no set traditional meanings or cards. Many artists create their own Oracles for use with divination, gaming, and more.
What is meant by Majors Only?
A Majors only Tarot Deck is not a full Tarot, but only contains the 22 Major Arcana (arguably the most important cards). Many artists create Majors only Tarot decks because they’re not as prohibitvely expensive and time consuming as designing a full Tarot set.
What was the design process like?
The majority of the artwork are digital collages. Taking various public domain stock footages and making liberal use of the lasso tool and layering to create interesting effects. This is especially necessary for the various typographic effects, which I consider to be the essential feature of this set of designs. The 2 bonus art oracles included are completely original drawings, not collage work.
